Chef Heather and Co-owner Hector have over 50 years of restaurant experience between them. They both fell in love with cooking at very young ages. Heather, cooking on the family homestead: gathering fresh eggs and baking from scratch with farm fresh ingredients. Hector, in his mother's kitchen in Mexico City. Heather refined her skills studying European Cuisine abroad and Hector selling his family recipes on the local soccer pitch.

Fate brought them together to combine their senses of flavor with fresh, local ingredients; each thriving when creating memorable dining experiences.

Heather and Hector honed their skills working together at Paula LeDuc Fine Catering in Emeryville, CA. They decided to combine their talents and launch their own style of California cuisine. Thus, Brezo was born.

Not only do they run their successful restaurant, Brezo. They also have a family of five, including their oldest daughter, Valeria; their son, Wesley; and their youngest daughter, Evelyn.
